FamilyWize Discount Card
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Xi Chi Omega chapter has partnered with Familywize as "Ambassadors" until December 31, 2020 to distribute discount prescription cards.
The goal of the FamilyWize Community Service Partnership is to reduce the cost of medicine for children, families and individuals with no prescription drug coverage. The discounts and savings you receive are provided voluntarily by the more than 55,000 participating pharmacies that have agreed to accept this card. Simply present the card and prescription to a participating pharmacy to obtain the discounted price. Log onto www.familywize.org for the list of pharmacies.
To Date our cards have resulted in $23,563.13 in savings.
New Eyes
New Eyes for the Needy is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1932 to improve the vision of the less fortunate. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Xi Chi Omega chapter supports New Eyes for the Needy by hosting a recycling collection drive for old unused glasses over a 3-month period. Since 2011 to date we have collected a total of 719 glasses.
Striking Out Hunger
For six years Xi Chi Omega has been strengthening the Peekskill/Cortlandt community with our annual "Strike Out Hunger" bowl-a-thon. The purpose of the bowl-a-thon is to collect food donations while having fun bowling. All food/money donations benefit the Food Pantry of the Family Resource Center located in Peekskill, NY.
